This coffee is grown on several farms located in rugged terrains in the Tarrazú region, in southern Costa Rica. It is a region highly appreciated for its volcanic soil, which gives the coffees a very unique character. Volcanic soils have unique physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics that make the soil very rich and, therefore, allow to grow the best coffees in the world.
The farms where this coffee grows are led by women, and the cooperative that works with them aims to recognize their contribution to the coffee value chain. Behind this coffee is the story of many women producers who have been part of the development of the Tarrazú Region.
