Description
HISTORIA:
Alessandra Peloso is a specialty coffee producer in the city of Boa Esperança, in southern Minas Gerais. Along with her daughter and granddaughter, she continues the work started by her grandparents almost a hundred years ago in the same region. Along with other outstanding female coffee growers, she is one of the women represented by Flor de Café in Europe through the label “proudly grown by great women,” a special project that seeks to recognize the work of women in Brazilian coffee farming.
The Mundo Novo Variety coffee, which Alessandra cared for and harvested with great care, was cultivated in Fazenda Olaria, at 900 meters altitude, in 12 hectares of crops surrounded by 5 hectares of preserved native forests and a water source. A coffee that won a regional competition for its combination of peach, pineapple, dulce de leche, and a floral touch notes.
The farm is located in the Atlantic Forest Biome, which corresponds to 13.04% of the Brazilian national territory. Together with Flor de Café’s environmental team, the farm is being mapped, and native trees are being classified and cataloged.
